Tools Products and Documentation
We
offer the following as a courtesy to our customers. We update this page
seldom, but we will update this page upon request, should you desire
the most up to date information.
The
following reflects the status of Science Tools Corporation products
as of January 12, 2000.
Platforms
and Versions
Due to the many combinations of systems and software, we cannot test
with all of them. We may state here the combinations we know work -
other platforms and versions may very well work, but we may not have
confirmation that it does. In general, our software is quite portable.
If you require a platform or version not mentioned here, please feel
free to contact
us to discuss it.
Most
components are "backward compatable". We expect some version 2 products
to not be backward compatable with version 1.x, but we may be providing
conversion tools, should that prove worthwhile.
Status
Fields
- Planned
- This is an architectural, design or marketing phaise.
- In
Progress - Design complete, now it's just a small matter of code...
- Alpha
- the first testing phaise after code is complete
- Beta
- the second testing phaise - looks pretty good and stable
- Production
- the code has certified for production use
- Released
- Good enough to release. Some components, like documentation, are
released, not certified
- On
hold - Work has terminated for the present - usually, waiting for
another component to enter alpha
- Re-write
- This is a type of "in progress" and denotes a completely new codeline
- Incomplete
- Items that don't pass certification criteria or other goals, but
may work sufficiently to satisfy some users needs. Normally, work
is continuing to certify the codeline.
