Patient Rights
Issues Worthy Of Our Time
All feedback
WELCOME; our Webmistress thanks you.
Background: Why Science Tools?
Everyone reading this is a
human, and we're all getting older. Eventually we'll
all run into medical issues. Here, though, why us?
Recently an experience has pushed us to
become involved in this topic, though Science Tools
has long been engaged in the medical world. For
example, in the late naughts, with the help of Mario
Rosatti at WSGR, we sought and gained
hand-shake agreements on what today would be
considered massive startup funding for One Med Db (One
Medical Database), serving both the science of medical
research and addressing the needs of practitioners and
patients. Unfortunately the funding fell through
because that handshake occurred mere hours before the
crash of '08.
Almost immediately thereafter, our founder
became CTO and VP of Engineering at EHealthTrust, led
by Bill
Yasnoff, which over the next few years created a
new system, based on our Big Sur System, that provided
competition to the well-known Epic medical
system; while the new system worked well, the
new system failed at launch due to, well, the
difficulties of launching a startup. Who knew, right?
However, we hosted and later retained the web site,
and you
can see it here.
Patient's Rights - a
problem bigger than we are!
California Pain Management, a
vision
We're helping organize the
brain power needed to address this complex problem. A
goal is to have contributions from every involved
group, preferably many voices from every group.
Our destination is a ballot initiative here in
California, our starting point. However, we have ONLY
JUST BEGUN!
For now, please revisit this page, and later we'll
have a site dedicated just to this topic.
How
Can YOU Help?
We need YOUR voice!
It's VERY early in our effort! For now, please
just send us an email and we'll follow up with you
BEFORE we can manage to get a web presence organized just
for discussions and input on this topic.
WE VALUE PRIVACY! We well know we're asking for
information from people EMPLOYED in all the related
industries so we're very dedicated to YOUR safety! ALL
postings will be anonymous unless YOU specifically
authorize it!
So, send us an email, and in the near term we'll add you
to a one-way email list for privacy reasons.
Later, we'll have a more formal system for us to work
together to create a best-in-the-USA set of policies that
we can enact in this great state and create a model for
other states as we go.
